5 Of My Biggest Pet Peeves

We all have pet peeves. We experience so many things in our daily lives that really irritate us and make us feel angry. And it’s okay too, we can’t be happy from everything, it’s a human thing. I try to be happy and please everybody around me, I don’t like to let them know even if I don’t like what they are doing. But I’m the kind of person who gets irritated easily by anything. My siblings always took advantage of this fact and never leave a chance to annoy me. But in today’s post, I’m gonna share my biggest pet peeves, which I hate.

When people try to make others feel down

You know those people who always show off like they are the best and others are nothing in front of them. People, who make fun of others, talk rubbish about someone’s skin color, height, or anything… I just hate them. I know we shouldn’t let these nonsense things affect us but when you do that too much to someone, it really leaves a bad impact on that person and you never know how hard it becomes for them to overcome it. I know my friend in 6th grade, she was a new student and some students in school made fun of her. I’m glad that she’s totally fine and a self-confident girl now but it took her 3 years to overcome her insecurity and to tackle everything.

People judging others

This is the one that irritates me the most. I hate it when people judge others without knowing a single thing about what they are talking about. You know people forget truth easily but they never forget about a rumor and literally believe in that. I meet these people almost every day since I’m a K-pop lover. “You don’t even understand what they are saying. Ugh, why these guys wear makeup? They look alike, how can you differentiate them? Don’t they have anything else to do?” – What I hear every day. These rubbish talks don’t affect me anymore because I’ve accepted that they can never understand what being different and cool is, but I hate it when they judge anyone without knowing a single thing about who they really are and what they do.

People who smoke in front of me

Okay, so that really makes me angry. First of all, I really don’t like the people even a bit who smoke, okay let them smoke on their own, but why smoking in front of others and make them feel like vomiting. I’m allergic to dust and smoke, I get a high headache because of these things and whenever I see someone smoking that affects me, I get so mad. To the people who do that, I can’t stop you from smoking but just to let you know that it’s dangerous for your health and when you smoke in front of others, they might not say this to you but you really annoy them by doing that.

People who spell my name incorrectly

No one would like to see people spelling his/her name incorrectly, right? It happens just too much with me. My name is Poorwa, but I can never expect that they would write it correctly and that’s what happens most of the time. It got the worst when I was in 10th grade, and they spelled my name incorrectly on my admit card for board exams. In India, 10th results mean the world for students, and just thinking that my name would be wrong in it, I felt so much pressure to run around my strict Principal’s office for a couple of weeks to correct my name on the admit card. I can tolerate it when it gets incorrect because of our all-time enemy- autocorrect but please, if you’re confused about how to spell someone’s name, it’s better to ask that person once.

People who cheat

Cheaters… Traitors… don’t come in front of me. When you can’t keep a promise then don’t do and also when you can’t do something honestly, just ignore it. I don’t have lots of friends in real life because I’ve got betrayed by many of my friends in the past so I’m with friends with the only people whom I can trust forever. I can write a long post on this topic, and maybe I will someday. I think we all dislike these people, don’t we?

I think I’ve written down all my anger in this post, now I’m feeling good.

  1. Yes!! I agree with all of them & have been annoyed by them. I’ve had people misspell my first name with 2 L’s instead of 1. And sometimes people just walk in front of me smoking away. And don’t get me started on people judging other people. 😦 Soooo annoying.

    Great post!

  3. The name part…ahhh I relate to it so bad!!
Like people literally don’t think before pronouncing it…like I get it..it might be a bit hard to pronounce..but just ask me before saying it or at least apologise after spelling or pronouncing it wrong…but no..they’ll just end it by laughing and saying “Your name is weird and long” like it’s better tha Phoolkatori and chamchi stuff and it has a better meaning so…keep your opinions to yourself…NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON HERE NEEDS IT!!

    1. Thanks Priya!!! I know, those people are really annoying and I should say fools. You know one of my teachers even said that you could change your name’s spelling, it’s not a big deal, when I was trying to correct it on my admit card. Your name is beautiful ❤️

      1. Ikr!! They are big fools!!
That’s rude and mean…She shouldn’t have said that.
        Aww thanks… yours too!!
And it’s your spelling that stands out and makes your name even prettier😊

  4. I completely agree with you, Poorwa on all 5 counts. I hate bullies, judgemental idiots, smokers especially if they smoke in public places without any care, betrayers and people who spell my name incorrectly. Especially the last one. I had a lot of trouble with my 10th admit card too. Some idiot spelled my name incorrectly and we had to run around a lot to get it corrected.

      1. I’m not scared. I just wait for them to screw up and make it a point to get them correct it. Some people misspell it even if I’m spelling it out for them. I never hesitate to give them a piece of my mind then. Names are a big part of who we are. And to me, if someone spells it incorrectly even if I’m guiding them, that’s a sign of disrespect or lack of attention on their part. And it drives me crazy!

  5. I agree with all of your pet peeves specially when people try to bring someone down by calling them names. I even posted an article about cyberbullying today! It’s not acceptable to make brusque comments about someone’s appearance.
    Absolutely agree with you, Poorwa.
    Loved this post. ♥️♥️

  6. I also REALLY hate when people smoke in front of me! It gives me a headache and makes me feel sick – just because someone else feels like smoking and blowing it into my face. It troubled me so much that I bought a face mask [long before coronavirus existed]. At first, everyone teased me because of my face mask – then the coronavirus happened and everyone had to wear one too! Oh my gosh, yes, k-pop stans get judged so much. It’s funny because most male actors have to wear makeup when they’re filming movies but people don’t mention that. And who cares if a guy is wearing makeup? Let them do what they want [is what I say to the haters – not you since I know you already understand]. I had a friend at school who would always brag and make me feel worse about myself – I hate people like that too.
