K-pop Unwind: TXT ‘0x1=Love Song (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori

Hey everyone!

So the second post of my new series on this blog K-pop Unwind is here.

To know more about this series, click here.

[As I told you in the introduction post, this is not a ‘review’ series but a ‘recommendations’ series where I’ll bring you some fantastic K-pop songs that I personally love a lot, so there will be no rating any songs at the end of the posts in this series because the songs I’ll be recommending here I already give them a rating of 5 stars.]

Don’t forget to check out the first post ‘K-pop Unwind: Snapping by Chungha‘ if you haven’t already.

Today I bring you my favorite song by my current favorite K-pop band TXT (Tomorrow X Together) which is none other than 0x1=Love Song (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori. So without further ado, let’s get started…

TXT – 0x1=Love Song (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori

0x1=Love Song (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori is a pop-rock song released as the title track of TXT’s second studio album The Chaos Chapter: Freeze on May 31, 2021.

From the intro to the end, everything about it is catchy and addictive. I love how this song sounds so pure. It’s a type of angsty but still not very dark and it’s impressive how they made the rock sound pleasing to the ears. I love how it focuses on the husky and raspy vocals of the members and they totally killed it, I must say.

The lyrics “In this world of zero I know you’re my 1 & only” tell the story behind the title. I just got to know that this song is co-written by RM of BTS. Here are some of my favorite lyrics… (check out the lyric video here)

From the tip of my fingers
Everything runs far away
My life before you was a mess
Couldn’t win one round of this chess
Oh we

From this bottomless pit
You’re the only (one) shining gold
Now I can’t stop thinking ’bout you
When I’m sinking alone
Angel who one day appeared to me
Take me away to your hometown
I know it’s real, I can feel it

Then comes the chorus which is the highlight of this song. It’s freaking catchy plus absolutely beautiful. When they go “I was fine to die”, it hits straight and their vocals *chefs kiss. The post-chorus is equally beautiful where Seori shines with her sweet vocals. She adds a crispy and refreshing vibe to the song which I love.

I think it would be even more amazing if there was a rap part after Seori’s verse. I’m not really complaining, I’m just curious how it would turn out with a rap verse between those rock tunes. But nevermind, this song is just right.

Talking about the MV, when I watched it for the first time I was like “OMG!” I’m quite new into TXT so I don’t know much about their album trilogy but it looks like it’s about the feeling of emptiness and loneliness of adolescence that everyone goes through at some point in their life. Yeonjun is shown as the main character here, he looks tired and lonely and leaves his house with the car keys after seeing his parents fight again. He meets his friends (fellow members) and they are shown running, playing, and having fun. Throughout the MV, it feels like there’s a barrier between him and his friends (maybe it shows that reality), and at the end, he wakes up and finds himself alone again.

I personally love the MV of the Japanese Version more than the main MV because I think this MV (the one linked below) hits harder with the song. I have to give a shoutout to all those who worked on it because this music video is a masterpiece and I totally recommend watching it. It gets even more amazing after the bridge with those CG effects – the meteoroids, the screaming and falling from the sky… everything. Even if it’s in Japanese it doesn’t sound much different than the original version and the lyrics are not changed either and that’s why I like it even more. In this version, we have Ikuta Lilas as the featuring artist and she was amazing as always.

Taking a look at the choreography, sadly there wasn’t a move that I found memorable or catchy, but it’s definitely worth watching the performance.
