End-of-Year TBR | All of the books I want to read before 2025

Last year marked the beginning of my Reader era. And I guess I’ll be safe to say that I’ve entered a never-ending saga and now I’m on my way of making a cozy space in my room dedicated to books and notes to self. Along with reading, I found how fun it is to keep tracks of the books you’ve read or plan to read in the future.

Although I didn’t set any reading goals at the beginning of this year, I ended up adding so many books in my TBR each month, now I’m confused which books to pick for my next read. Just a couple of days ago, I finished my 14th read of this year, which is definitely a good number for me. But I want to make it at least 20 books by the end of the year, so I thought setting a reading goal might help.

So, I just picked 9 books from my TBR on Goodreads and yeah, the goal will be to read these books before the arrival of January 1st. A small part of me is trying to make me go for a bigger challenge but since it’s my first reading goal and I like to read at my own pace, I will just stick with these 9 books for now.

End-of-Year TBR

Kaikeyi – I’m always the person who’s curious about the other side of the story, and when I heard about this book from Sophie @ Me & Ink, I quickly added it to my TBR. And well, like, just look at that cover, isn’t it stunning?

The Silent Patient – I’ve been wanting to read this book for months now after Niveditha @ Niv’s Nook recommended it. And I guess I shouldn’t make it wait much longer.

Better Than The Movies – I think I read the name of this book on someone’s Instagram story last year, and it was appealing enough for me to quickly add it to my TBR. I’m growing fond of rom-coms recently.

To Kill a Mockingbird – I don’t know much about this book but I keep hearing about it on Twitter recently. Plus, whenever I hear Eminem’s song Mockingbird, I get a reminder of checking out this book so I guess this is time to finally do it.

Two Can Keep A Secret – I had planned to read the One Of Us Is Lying series first but I don’t know why this one keeps catching my attention more lately, so yeah, that’s how it made it to my end-of-year tbr.

Where The Crawdads Sing – Again, I have no idea of the summary but I’ve heard good reviews of this book, and I think I’ll like it very much.

Letter to a Young Poet – Got the recommendation on Instagram. And I’m a sucker for some poetry, so yup, here we go.

Cry, Heart, But Never Break – I love picture books but never read one that could possibly make me cry (or maybe I’m forgetting something), so we have this one for some tears.

Tales from the Café – Sequel to my last read, Before The Coffee Gets Cold, I can’t wait to dive into another heartfelt journey exploring the essence of love, loss and life.

So that’s it. I hope to read all these 9 books before 2025. And making it a total of 10 books will be my current read – Happy Place by Emily Henry. And of course, if I’m able to read these books before the deadline I’ve set for myself, I’ll try to finish one more book before new year and ooh-la-la, that will make it a total of 25 books for the year 2024. Oh, this is going to be an emotional rollercoaster. I’m so excited!

Are there any books you really want to read before 2025? If you’ve read any of the books I mentioned in this post, do let me know your reviews on them in the comment section below.

Thanks for reading!

I hope you enjoy all these books! Whilst I have only read Kaikeyi (and I am so glad I was able to encourage you to add it to your TBR, hope you love it), most of the others I know through the community’s love. The Silent Patient has a very intriguing concept, I will be curious to know your thoughts on it! ✨

I have high expectations from Kaikeyi, I really think I will like it a lot.
I’m looking forward to reading The Silent Patient. My friends on Goodreads really loved that book. I will definitely share my thoughts on it after reading.

This is a great idea to inspire yourself to reach a certain book goal by the end of the year! The only one I’ve read is To Kill A Mockingbird, and it’s one of the best classics I’ve ever read. 👏 (The others are The Great Gatsby and Hamlet, loved both of those!)
I don’t have any book goals atm because I haven’t been going to the library lately, and once I start going back I’m not sure which genres I’d like to read. 😂 Plus, I’m slowly working on my own story and I usually stop reading fiction to do it so I don’t combine the author’s world and mine haha!

Seems like To Kill A Mockingbird is going to be a great read for me too. I’ve heard of those two other books, I will add them to my TBR😄.
