Wish

Wish
I think of the twilight
of skies bright from the starlight
I think of the greatness
of the entities that lie far ahead

Then I think of my own name
someone once told me how it spoke of inevitable fame
although my heart still calls through the forever mist
a breeze that follows from the east

I tuck my hair behind my ear
as I look for my place beyond the fear
among the stars or among the crowds
all the shapes of clouds look loud and clear

The grass melts beneath my touch
as I wait for the magic to come about
Hugging my knees closer to my chest
A laugh slips from my throat when

I almost miss the moment I'd been waiting for
And just like that…
The wish is gone before I'm sure I made it.

“I tuck my hair behind my ear
as I look for my place beyond the fear” – I love (and relate) to that line so much. Beautiful poem, Poorwa! :)
