Hey, hey everyone! My name is Poorvi Kumar from @ Poorvi Kumar Blog! I’m a teenage desi girl from America who loves to write! On my blog, you can find new poems weekly as well as a wide variety of musings, book reviews, and other such things! If this sounds up your ally I’d love to have you in the family!
This particular poem is one that I wrote about, well the comfort zone! With online learning and everything due to COVID, a lot of us have had a harder time focusing and have spent a longer time in that dreaded state of contentment. So in this poem, I’ve hoped to capture the essence of the struggle that comes with not pushing ourselves.
The comfort zone
By Poorvi Kumar
The screams in my mind echo violently Some begging me to start Other’s wanting me to stay as I am. For there’s always two side you see? One dressed in a blazing white And another in an sinful red Waging a war against each other, An unfair one. For the one dressed as the devil has an advantage That I’m already satisfied. It simply sits back and watches me destroy everything Destroy my future and dreams My hopes and ambitions. The cruelest part? It’s self sabotage. The dangers of the comfort zone.
