Hey everyone! I’m so excited for today’s post because I’m gonna review the sixth studio album Confetti by the one and only Little Mix, released on 6 November 2020. I know I’m late but I really had to do this review because only I know how much I’ll miss Jesy in their next albums. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, In December 2020, Jesy announced her departure from the group due to prolonged issues with her mental health. She said: “I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.” Now you know why I have so much anger for those toxic people but as a true lover of their music, I respect her decision.

In her BBC documentary Odd One Out, Nelson was vocal about her struggle with body image. She said she would starve herself before TV performances or video shoots, then later binge eat. She said that abuse from online trolls on Twitter drove her to attempt suicide in 2013, stating: “I felt that I physically couldn’t tolerate the pain anymore.

Break Up Song

It’s such a catchy song with awesome dance beats. Yeah, I know it’s a Break Up Song but it is much more than that. And their vocals at the end, why are they so killing. You should definitely listen to it.

This song is fire you know… and the lyrics are just crazy. I’m not a fan of the music video though, but to watch it you can click here. And how can I forget about the super awesome performance of the trio!?

Confetti

The lyrics of Confetti are really something. It has a great meaning behind it and I love it so much. A must-listen! And yes, the acoustic performance- their vocals are just getting better and better, unbelievable! (Click here to watch the music video featuring Saweetie).

Happiness

Honestly, when I listened to it for the first time I thought it’s fast-forwarded haha. But I have to say, they really know how to write, their lyrics are always so good. It’s a fantastic song!

Not a Pop Song

I love the vibe of this song… the melodies… they sound so heavenly while singing the chorus. Kinda a unique song! I think you already know what I’m going to say but I’ll say it again for you- Listen to it right now!

Nothing But My Feelings

Honestly, this one doesn’t sound like a Little Mix song for me. It’s really very nice but I expect just too much from them all the time, it’s my wrong. But since I know how amazing their other songs are, this one really doesn’t stand out for me but I still recommend it.

Gloves Up

They were literally rapping in this one. And their powerful vocals… OMG! Kinda gives me the vibe of Power which is one of my all-time favorites. But I can’t say it’s the best one, maybe I didn’t like it a lot because of the background music… I don’t know.

A Mess (Happy 4 U)

A Mess (Happy 4 U)… one of my top favorite songs of this album, also by Little Mix, no… it’s one of my all-time favorites. Literally gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it, it’s just so emotional. And when they sing- “If you’re happy, I’m happy, I’m happy for you”… it’s so heartbreaking.

My Love Won’t Let You Down

The sweetest lullaby! A song that makes you cry and comforts you at the same time. It’s like the members are singing it to each other. It’s so special!

Rendezvous

It was something new. They mostly sing in high voices but most of Rendezvous has sung in a lower tone. It kinda gives me nostalgic vibes which I like a lot. Not my favorite but it’s pretty good.

If You Want My Love

How they sing so good!? Jade said, “The meaning of ‘If You Want My Love’ is like, I’m sick of your blah-blah. If you want my love, work for it. Put the effort in. We’re very busy girls, you see? We’re very successful! And you’re putting in some half-arsed effort. Just work for it.” Cool, isn’t it?

Breathe

Another heartbreaking song. I really love this song, I mean a lot. I’m listening to it on repeat. It’s pleasant to years and really emotional. About this song, Leigh-Anne said, “The lyric is ‘I can’t breathe when you’re not with me.’ You do feel like that after a breakup sometimes. Even though it’s not true—you can survive without him. But that’s the feeling you’ve got at the time.”

My Favorite Song: Breathe

Favorite Lyrics: My Love Won’t Let You Down

I’m in love with this album! Even though it was released in November 2020, it still feels like a brand new album to me. I wrote Breathe for my favorite song but I really like A Mess (Happy 4 U) too, so it’s also nothing less than my favorite from Confetti. Confetti is an outstanding album, kinda gives an encouraging, motivating but emotional vibe to the listener. For those who have yet to give Little Mix a try, you’re really missing out. Their songs and talent are the reasons why I call them my favorite girl band. You should definitely listen to this album, it’s really worth it.
