Hey there! Yes, you guessed it right… it’s my birthday today!!!
I can’t believe it’s my second birthday since I started blogging. I still remember very well how much fun I had here last year on my birthday when we did a blog party together. I wish I could organize something like that this time too but things are a bit different now you know, me – not able to blog much because of lots of school work and exams in 2 weeks…
Leave it, I won’t let any stress ruin my day today. I love my birthdays just so much – my favorite festival. Not because on birthdays we get presents and stuff but because this day makes me feel special much more than any other day of the year, and falling at the end of the year makes it more memorable.
Aah… I’m turning 16… well, I don’t like this number a lot and it’s making me a bit sad that I won’t be called 15 or under 15 anymore, but who cares… I’m glad to say that 2021 was the best year of my life yet and it’s been a total of 16 years since I was born.
I have a thousand thoughts running in my mind right now, both positive and negative. I think a lot about myself, I talk to myself almost all the time. So this post will literally be a “letter to myself” post where I share 5 things I want to say to myself as I turn 16…
I’m proud of you
I’m proud of the person you’ve become. You’re strong! 2021 was full of difficulties and hardships but you beautifully dealt with every situation and came out confidently. It’s not at all easy to attend online classes every morning then go to school and then attend online classes again after school while keeping up with all of the school work as a student of 12th. You wanted your last year of school to be the best, right? Congrats, you’ve made it!
You are loved
Never forget that you’re surrounded by a shield of people who love you for who you are. Your family, your friends, your teachers and even your online friends of the blogosphere… you are loved. Where you have your best friends who already celebrated your birthday yesterday in the classroom singing, dancing and making you cut a drawn cake on the blackboard… you have your online besties- where you love talking music and K-pop with Pavithra, Ib encourages you with her sweet messages.
Even if you don’t win, it’s alright
You’re competitive. It’s a good thing but sometimes it makes me worry about you. You don’t like losing at all, and you’re the type of person who’ll do it again and again until you win. I think it’s one of your flaws that you should work on a bit. Trying again is great but from how much I know myself, it frustrates you and makes you nervous and stressed. I want to say that it’s okay to fail. If you don’t win, please don’t give up and try again, but before trying again make sure you want to do it or not. Do it if it’s important and you want to try again… or just leave it.
Never stop loving music
I know you couldn’t even imagine your life without music and also that your love for it will be increasing day by day. I just want you to love and support your favorite artists for life. Indeed 2021 was your best year yet but only you know that it was the hardest too. And in your hard times, there were your stars who stayed by your side, made you smile, encouraged by their music and raised you up. Doesn’t matter when someone calls you addicted to English songs or talks nonsense about K-pop in front of you, you know how to deal with them, they’re just jealous of how satisfied you are with your music taste.
And last but not least…
You’re my favorite
I don’t want you to be anybody else. You’re my favorite because you take care of me, you do your best to make me happy, you make the best decisions for me, I know sometimes foolish but that’s who you are – “a dumb 16 whose school life is about to end and you don’t have any future plans?” Just kidding, I love this stupid version of myself so much. Just be you, keep doing what you love, please change the song (I’m listening to TXT’s I Know I Love You on repeat for more than an hour, gosh), and never stop loving yourself, or else you won’t be my favorite lol…
Alright, that’s it for today! Gosh, the amount of self-love I put in this post is another level! That’s fine, after all, it’s my birthday! Happy birthday to me!!!
