Monthly Wrap-up | June 2024

Well done, everyone! We’ve made it halfway through 2024.

How was June? For me, it was practically all about worrying about the future. And even though it has been pretty stressful, I’m glad that I’ve finally started thinking seriously about this stuff. And that’s a big achievement on its own you know (gotta give yourself affirmations like these time-to-time).

Now once I give my 4th semester finals, there’ll be only one year left before my graduation and though I’ve never expressed it to my family or friends, I’m too worried about what will I do after that. Everyone tells me that you’ve got a lot of time in your hands, but maybe they don’t know yet that since 2019, a year feels like 2-3 months at most. I mean 2024 was a new year, wasn’t it? What do you mean we’re already in July?

Books

I completed reading To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before the day I posted my monthly wrap-up for May. And then I straight went for its sequel – PS I Still Love You. I liked the both books equally. Hopefully I will post a review of the series soon, I can’t be certain of when will I post it because my schedule this July is going to be very tight and this writer’s block just won’t go away easily but let’s see.

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder was hands down my favorite read of the month. I loved the whole series. To read my review, click here.

Movies

I only watched one new movie last month – Kung Fu Panda 4. I had big expectations from this movie as Kung Fu Panda is one of my favorite series, but this one didn’t really stand out for me. What I didn’t like is that whenever there’s a new movie in a series, I hope that some dots here will connect to its prequels. I also am not a big fan of ‘out of nowhere’ characters or plots, then we had our Furious Five missing in the movie. I won’t say it was bad, I mean I liked it and it was fun watching too but if I had to rank the Kung Fu Panda movies, this one would be my least favorite.

This July, I’m looking forward to rewatch the Insidious series.

Songs

Same as May, June too was just me playing random songs according to my mood. The artist I listened to the most was probably aespa, I’m becoming a big fan of them. Then on some days, I would hear Shawn Mendes and Taylor Swift for hours, next day there’d be Billie Eilish and BTS and on some days I had NCT and One Direction as my saviors. I’m super obsessed with the song Birds Of A Feather by Billie Eilish, and I guess her new album is my sign of diving into her discography. I’m loving her music.

  • Armageddon – aespa
  • Birds Of A Feather – Billie Eilish
  • Cosmic – Red Velvet
  • Supernova – aespa
  • But Daddy I Love Him – Taylor Swift
  • Broken Melodies – NCT Dream
  • Eight – IU feat. Suga
  • Lights – BTS
  • Colors – NCT 127
  • Stay Alive – Jungkook
  • Once In A Lifetime – One Direction

We’re already in the second week of July, and I’ve had my fair share of happiness and sorrow in the last week. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to blog much this much this month because it is possible my exams will start very soon since our seniors have already got their time-tables, so I have prioritize my job as a student for the time being. I also want to give time to my other hobbies, especially sketching, I miss drawing faces.

What are you guys up to these days? I’d love to hear from you. Let’s chat in the comments.

Thanks for reading! I hope you have a great month ahead.

Hi, Poorwa! 💕✨ As always, I love reading your monthly wrap-ups. ✨ I am glad to hear that you experienced some light-hearted moments through various media, during the month of June, even if you have been having your worries about the future. I completely understand how you feel, especially given the time in your life that you are in right now as a college student. I do not mean to be one of those people who just knee-jerk and say, “You have a lot of time”, lol, because the reality is… time has certainly went by fast already, as you said, and before you know it, you will be graduating college one day (which of course, we are not rushing it though). As a college graduate, I am still filled with a lot of thoughts about the future too, but rather than overwhelm myself about it, I am learning what it means to be “anxious for nothing”, and pray about it, because people and things can change with time, so it is not worth worrying. Just continue to focus on what you are doing, and that is pursuing and finishing your education, which can already be A LOT in itself to manage. 📚📝 Trust that everything you desire and think about will fall into place, because it will 💭✨, for you will have lots of beautiful and amazing things to write about in the future because of all of the wonderful things you will be doing and the dreams that you will be fulfilling and living in the near future. 👩🏻‍💻💕✨ I am just hopeful and excited for the plans that God has for you in the future, Poorwa, for it is going to be BIG, and amazing! 🙏🏻🦋🌸✨ In the meantime, I am wishing you all the best on your exams, for you will do well. 💯 And of course, always talk to your close family and friends you can trust and depend on about your worries and concerns, for they can help bring ease to your mind. ✨ Love you, Poorwa, and may God bless you and your family! 🫶🏼💕✨

Please don’t remind me of the latest kunfu panda movie 😩✋🏼 I was so disappointed!! But maybe the new generation kids would like it? Idc!! 😑 And, we all go through existential crisis from time to time so don’t worry. No one has it figured out even after the 30’s or an adult 😭 And I’m too obsessed with Billie Eilish songs too!!

Hii, Poorwa! I enjoy reading your posts, and wrap ups are my favourite. I agree with you on a year having only 2-3 months. It really is like that and by the time you start enjoying, the year is over. Worrying about the future is the only constant lol. I hope things go well for you and you’re able to figure out something for yourself <3 To All the Boys I've loved before is a nice romance novel! Ooh, that's quite a variety of song. My music taste being limited, I've not listened to much of those but I'll surely give them a try. Good luck for your exams! I hope you do well:)

Ooh, that’s nice! I’ve only read the first and the last books from the series. I somehow couldn’t read the second one. But I watched the movie so I know what happens, haha.
I’ve been listening to a lot of 2000s bollywood music recently. Tum se hi, bulleya, and mera yaar are some of my favourites. I like their lyrics so much! I also listen to a lot of anuv jain bcs his songs are amazing😭
