Looking for new songs to add to your current playlist? I got your back here with a new album review. And this time we’re going to listen to none other than my top artists for three consecutive years – NCT 127.
The band’s latest album WALK was released on July 15, 2024, and I’m super excited to write this album review as I’ve been a huge fan of 127 since 2020 and I know how STRONG their music is. Their title tracks are no doubt spectacular but I’m specifically a sucker for their b-sides, especially their R&B tracks. And there are 11 tracks in total on WALK so it’s a treat for me. So now with that, let’s start the review…
Intro: Wall to Wall
Now this is how you open an album. Mark really made my jaw drop with his verse in the second half. The track video is so cool on the other hand. Intro tracks in albums don’t usually stand out for me, but Wall To Wall is an exception.
Walk
You can always count on 127 to release the most outstanding title tracks ever, they never disappoint. WALK is totally brilliant. The vibe is there at the first beat and as the song goes on, you’ll find yourself grooving and clapping along. Then the dance practice video is so satisfying to watch and I laughed and cried at the same time when I saw Taeyong’s childhood photo hanging over the members in the MV. I loved the music video. I’m looking forward to the day they perform this song with all the members.
P.S. – I was flooded with joy to see Yuta and Johnny in the center for the chorus. They own this era.
No Clue
I didn’t like it much at the first listen but the more I’m listening to it, No Clue is growing up on me. I wish Yuta had more lines in this, the way he sang “My city lights, ocean” it was just too beautiful. I hate their company for holding him back. I don’t see myself playing No Clue a lot, but is it a skip? I don’t think so.
Orange Seoul
This song is for me guys, and for all my buddies who love to go on a drive to admire the orange sky more freely while the sun goes down… ahh this song is perfect for that moment. And now that I’m thinking about it, this song is also going in my playlist for when I’m doing house chores, especially I can see myself vibing to Orange Seoul while cleaning. It will be so much fun if they perform this song in a concert.
Pricey
Hey, I just found my new favorite on the album. Pricey is too good. Especially the chorus, it’s addictive. The rap line went crazy here. It kinda reminds me of the song Tasty, which is one of my favorite b-sides of NCT 127. I can see them performing Pricey with a similar setup and I’m sure it’s going to be fire. It’s a bop.
Time Capsule
I could listen to this song for hours, it is so beautiful. The lyrics give a sense of nostalgia reminding the listeners to cherish the present and not to be sad about the passing of time as our shared memories will stay alive for a long long time.

Can’t Help Myself
I won’t be surprised if this song turns out to be my most-played song of 2024. I just have this feeling that I won’t be able to get over it for a long long time. This is pure, romantic, sweet, and beautiful. Oh how much I love Taeyong’s voice a bit too much when he sings. Doyoung and Jaehyun really stand out in 127’s R&B songs for me and they did here too. Then don’t get me started on how beautiful Haechan and Taeil did that “I’ll always choose you” in the chorus. This song is not just a song, it’s an emotion. A must listen.

Rain Drop
What did I just hear? THIS SONG IS RICH!!! OMG! Too good. Where do I even start now? The last line in the pre-chorus (sung by Doyoung and Yuta)… there’s no going back once you’ve listened to this song with your headphones on. And Haechan’s vocals in the bridge, he’s outstanding. I’m possessed. It’s a 10.
Gas
NCT has really brainwashed me into enjoying songs like this lol. It’s my guilty pleasure. This is the most “neo” song on the album. It gives off their Japanese album “Loveholic” vibe (that was one wild EP). Only 127 could pull off this song. If you’re not used to NCT noise music, then this song might not be for you but trust me, NCTzens are going crazy over this track (on spotify, it’s the most played track on the album after Walk).
Suddenly
Another ‘no skip’. Oh, this album is so good. The vocal line ate it. On the other hand, I loved the lyrics and the chorus a lot. Though it doesn’t stand out that much in the album, I’m liking this song very much.
Meaning of Love
Is it over already? The track video is so cute. Jungwoo really shines the brightest in songs like this. I also loved Johnny’s lines a lot in this song. 127’s duality is on another level. In Gas they are like cult masters and here they become nursery teachers? That’s why I love them lol.
Between family, strangers, friends and us

To be honest, I only loved a couple of songs on this album at my first listen, before writing this review I thought I’d be giving this album a 3.8-star rating but now when I listened to all these songs again, it turned out to be such a strong album. I love 127’s b-side tracks more and more with every album.
I see more than half of the songs here as a powerful contender for the best song on the album. Pricey, Time Capsule, Rain Drop, Can’t Help Myself and Gas are my top picks here. But I’m sure I’ll love the other songs even more after listening to the album a couple more times. For now, I’m fully obsessed with Can’t Help Myself. I hope you give this album a try if you haven’t heard it yet because if you don’t, you’ll be definitely missing out on some great songs.
