My Ways of Using AI in Blogging

AI is a great tool, there’s no question in that. But the idea of using generative AI to actually write blog posts doesn’t seem fit to me. While using some assistance of our artificial friend can be of great help in the process of content creation, saving you lots of time which might provide better results too, it will never replace the personal touch, authenticity and emotions only you can provide in your writing.

Today I came across this very well written article on WordPress that immediately caught my eyes, titled “AI isn’t going to bleed on the paper”. I loved reading that post, and inspired by the author, I decided to talk about some effective ways in which I’ve used AI for blogging which proved to be helpful to me.

Blog Post Ideas

I still get excited every time a post appears in my Reader with the words ‘Blog Post Ideas’ by the bloggers I follow. But there are times when I need a well-personalized list for myself, that’s when I ask AI for help. For example, I can simply ask ChatGPT for 10 post ideas where I talk about my student life, and there I have it. Well now, a quick web search would also have done the job for me, but the thing is – AI is a better listener. To its list of blog post ideas, I could just reply, “nah, make it so for a student who’s in her final year of university”. And then we’ll have ideas like “How the past two years of college changed me as a person”.

Generating a suitable title

As someone who always struggles with coming up with names, I often find myself spending a lot of time thinking of a suitable title for my blog posts. It becomes hard especially when the post is not about a specific topic but is a mixture of the thoughts running through my mind at some time. Though I only prefer asking AI to generate a blog post title when you’re really not sure about your blog post title or if it’s taking too much of your time, because I love how creative we sometimes get with these things, just like that one time when a blogger friend of mine made her comeback with a post titled “here I come kickin’ the door”. Yes, no AI could ever come up with something like that, it was iconic.

Feedback

I used this one when I was writing my first book review. If you remember, I reviewed a trilogy and since I’d never written a single book review before, let alone reviewing three books in one post, I needed feedback on a lot of things. I’d written the post already, so I just gave it to ChatGPT and I must say, I hadn’t expected it to provide me with such good feedback. It helped me with the outlining, suggested to shorten some paragraphs and also gave ideas on what things I could’ve added to make it a better read.

Proofreading

I see typos very often while reading stuff online and though I’m not hundred percent sure if my own posts have them or not because I’m too self conscious to read them after posting, I believe AI tools such as Grammarly can help minimize such errors to a large extent. Plus, if you’re like me who skips punctuation marks out of habit sometimes and is not so quick to notice them, Grammarly comes in handy.

So these were some of the cases where I’ve found AI helpful while blogging. WordPress also provides an AI Featured Image option but I prefer using Pexels free photos and designing my own featured images on Canva. I’m still new to using this thing and have a lot to learn about what more I can do with the help of AI, so I guess this is just the beginning.

Have you ever taken AI’s help while blogging?

This is quite an interesting topic. Let’s talk about it in the comments.

There was a time I wanted to really solidify some ideas I had. Went on ChatGPT to refine my already existing ideas. And boom! I was super impressed with how ChatGPT just took off. I retain my creativity by thinking up original concepts. And then ask AI to help refine those concepts. So this way, I get to be creative and also use the power of artificial intelligence to fine-tune my concepts💯 wonderful post. I just learnt of the proofreading AI. Grammarly. Would definitely try it out.

At my college, AI is often a subject talked about a lot amongst my professors and they actually encourage us to use AI to make things more efficient (without cheating of course) since they see it as a relevant job skill. So with that being said, I think the way you’re using it is smart. Makes your blogging more efficient yet still keeping that authentic Poorwa Pizzazz✨!
