Balancing College, Blogging, and Life: My Daily Workflow

With attending regular classes at uni, being consistent on my blog and on top of that festival preparations… seems like my free time that I’d been enjoying for two months has said its final goodbye to me.

October has been a pretty busy month for me but at the same time, I’m trying my best to appreciate all the work I have to do because it’s doing a great job distracting my mind from all the negativity and overthinking. Although I’m in no way welcoming any extra work load for me, I’m kind of loving being busy recently.

My day starts at 6:30 AM in the morning on days when I have classes at college. Not gonna lie, as much as I would love to wake up early every morning, having classes at 7:30 AM sucks. It’s a bit too much. And no matter how hard I try, I can never manage to enter the class before 8 AM.

So yes, it’s a little bit of struggle for me to go to college but somehow, all my worries seem to disappear for a moment when I finally take a seat among my friends. Though I still feel a bit upset about not having a friend with whom I can comfortably share anything, I couldn’t have asked for better friends in college. They just make everything so much better, and when I’m with them, I always feel included.

Our classes are usually over before noon, something before 11 AM, so we all chit-chat for an hour or two at the canteen. When we were in our first year, we used to have our breakfast or lunch at the canteen, but now we just use the space for our random gossips because everyone kind of loses their appetite after having classes so early in the morning, but we still try to give our favorite café nearby a visit at least once a week.

I’m usually back at home before 1 PM, unless I have to go to my aunt’s place after college and wait for my brother until he’s back from library, then we go home together. After finishing my meal and then taking some rest, I start helping out with the chores at home and preparations for the festival.

Only 10 days left for Diwali and I haven’t finished even a quarter of the work that’s my responsibility apparently. I admit it does feel amazing having every corner of your house clean and lighting up for Diwali, but the mess your house is in two weeks before the festival – it’s unbearable.

Let me tell you what happened a week ago. So here I was cleaning the living room and my room thoroughly in hopes that it won’t be too much of work when we do it again a few days before Diwali, next morning I see my dad breaking a wall that separates the living room from the front door. We’d had this conversation before that that wall will have to go so that the living room space can be bigger, but I had no idea we’d be doing that this year, especially the day after I had precisely cleaned up the said room.

Good thing that mom at least gave some of my cleaning responsibilities to my siblings after that, but now I’m struggling with the garden area. Those who have seen pictures of my garden, guys I’ve only shown you the pretty pictures of plants and flowers. What I haven’t shown you is that there’s literally a small jungle besides those lovely flowers. And although for everyone else at home it’s totally okay if we let that area stay as it is, I just want to at least clean up the unwanted weeds and grass, and maybe add a bench there so I can enjoy my nature time better.

Our tuition students arrive after 3:30 PM and their classes go on till 5PM. But this month I’m not teaching the evening batch because some of my students are enjoying vacations and the rest, I teach them in the morning around 8:30 AM when I don’t have college, and my sister takes in charge on other days.

Then I work on my blog posts later in the evening. I write in between 5-8 PM and try to give at least an hour for reading blog posts and doing editing across my site and posts. Finally after dinner, I work on my assignments if I have anything pending and then give a couple hours for the book I’m currently reading.

And that’s a wrap.

This is my usual routine on week days. Surely, it differs a lot on days when I don’t have classes. And when I have more free time at home, I spend that in reading or doing some other work that’s pending.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post.

Let me know how a work day in your life looks like in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

Yooo you’ve packed in all your responsibilities and tasks! It’s admirable, because if I had that much to do on work days, I know I’d crash once they were over.
Your dad breaking down the wall was an unexpected plot twist 😂 Cleaning/organizing something only to have that work basically taken away would… not make me happy haha
For me on a work day, since I work night shifts most times, I get up, have coffee and breakfast, and hang out. Then I get ready for the day and pick the most important things I need to do that day, usually projects around the house. Then I eat lunch, get ready for work, and go! When I get home in the evenings, I basically wind down then go to bed. Right now, I’m working more to save up money so I can leave my current job, which is exciting 😍👏 I can’t wait to get a new job!

Lol my dad would make an amazing author with plot twists like that 😂
Oh night shifts must be tiring. That sounds like a busy day.
I wish you all the best for goal, Maggie! After graduation, I want to get a job too asap and then save money so I can support my family financially.

My dad definitely pulls some plot twists, as well. Maybe it’s a dad thing idk 🤣✨
It’s not too bad because I get off at 7 or 9pm usually! Now if I did overnights I would probably die 😶
Thanks so much Poorwa! That’s an amazing goal 💕
