Books I’ve Read This Month

Hey everyone! Welcome or welcome back to my blog. Today I’m going to do a mini-review of all the books I’ve read this month. There were a total of five books that I finally took out of my TBR this month and I’m excited to be talking about them on here. So without any further ado, let’s get started…

The Little Prince // ⭐4/5

I decided to read this book after Pavithra @ Small Talks posted a beautifully illustrated review of it on her Insta page. Reading this book just felt different, it made me feel different kinds of emotions – happiness, sadness, amusement, warmth, and above all, it felt like a having a conversation with my inner child.

Before The Coffee Gets Cold // ⭐5/5

I can say that this one will be one of my top five reads of this year. There are stories that you don’t forget easily, Before The Coffee Gets Cold is a collection of stories that you don’t want to forget. Why? Because it will remind you of things that are most precious to you, things that must not be taken for granted. A gentle but at the same time, a heartbreaking reminder that time waits for no one, so drink the coffee before it gets cold.

Happy Place // ⭐2/5

I had big expectations from Happy Place, but all I felt after finishing this book was disappointment. I wasn’t a fan of the writing style from the beginning, but there were a few parts that I enjoyed reading, parts that made me feel like the story is going to take a better turn soon, but as it turned out, I guess this just wasn’t for me.

Better Than The Movies // ⭐4.2/5

This one had been on my TBR for over a year and I’m glad that I finally gave it a read. You know I love it when the characters are so well-written that you get a hang of their personality and it starts to feel like you know them personally, that’s what I enjoyed the most about this book. The characters were so good… and Wes Bennett now stands besides Ravi from AGGGTM in my favorite fictional boys’ club.

The Silent Patient // ⭐4.3/5

Oh I love myself a good mystery-thriller. Thanks to Niv @Niv’s Nook for recommending this book to me. Though I admit, I’d expected a tiny bit more… I don’t know what exactly but since the book kept me hooked from the first page with a mindblowing-ly shocking plot twist and all the puzzle pieces fitting together perfectly at the end, I must say it was an excellent read.

With that, I put two books from my End-of-Year TBR to my Finished-Reading section. October is already coming to an end and I’m not sure if I’m going to complete my 25 books goal by the end of this year but let’s see. I’m not reading anything currently since Diwali preparations have been keeping me too busy but five books a month is a big deal for me, so that’s a win-win.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. See you next time!

Which book by Emily Henry would you recommend? I was reading Book Lovers last year but did not finish it.

I’m glad you enjoyed most of these! I started reading The Little Prince YEARS ago, maybe I should finish it 😂💙
I read a book by Emily Henry this summer (‘Beach Read’) and I liked the writing style, but the characters’ dynamic wasn’t that enjoyable to read. I literally skipped the last few chapters because there was one spicy scene and then the plot fell apart after that 😭😂👏
Reading 5 books this month is AMAZING! I’m currently reading one and that’s it for me right now 🤣 Maybe I’ll reach 5 read by the end of November!

Lol what!? it’s such a short book 😂 yes, you should finish it ❤️
Ah it sucks when the story starts to get ‘meh’ at the end, the same happened with Happy Place for me.
Haha 5 is the most I’ve ever read in a month. I wish I’d picked up some books in the early months of 2024, I didn’t read anything for a few months. That would’ve made reaching my bookish goal easier lol
Hope you’re enjoying your current read. Also, I have a blog post request!! I would love to read a book review kinda post on your blog.

Yeah I’m not sure what happened! 😂👏 I’ll add it to my reading list 💕
Ouh maybe that writer struggles a bit with endings then 😭 I think we found what girlie needs to work on with her next book haha
Same! I haven’t set a book goal all year, but I think I read… maybe 3 books this year. 😬 Five at the most. Obviously didn’t find many I wanted to read, also didn’t have time when I was full time in the spring 🤣
Yes I am! The historical book is really good. Ooh that’s a good idea! I’ll work on one! Thanks for the request 😊👍

Excited to hear your thoughts on the little prince whenever you finish it!
        Yes lol 😂
What genre of books do you usually like? I can understand, I’m currently struggling with what to read next. I have my tbr but i’m looking for something else idk what exactly but 😂
This is the first time I’ve set a reading goal, let’s see how it goes. I was not much of a reader before 2023 you see, so reading this many books I feel like it’s a new world opening before me ✨

        Yes definitely!
I like reading comedies, some romances, historical fiction, and adventure.
That’s awesome then! Have you ever used Chat to ask for book recommendations? You could tell it your favorite genres, books you loved recently, or describe a type of book you want to read. I should chat about books with it myself 😎😂

Understandable. I didn’t read any books for a few months around summer because of uni work.
