Hey everyone! So as I told you a few weeks ago that I’ll be doing albums, EPs, and song reviews on my blog, so finally the first post of our new series is here.
Today I’m reviewing Selena’s brand new EP Revelación. It’s the first Spanish extended play by Selena Gomez. It was released on March 12, 2021, by Interscope Records. This EP is described as reggaeton, R&B, electropop, and dance-pop with a touch of Urbano music. In the EP, Selena has collaborated with Rauw Alejandro, Myke Towers, and DJ Snake. The EP contains 7 songs (with 3 music videos) and the full-time length is 19:31. Selena stated that the EP’s themes are “strength, love, forgiveness and moving on”
So let’s start the review with the Title track of the EP
Selena Gomez – De Una Vez (2:35)
I’ve been listening to this song continuously since it was released and I have to say that it’s such a beautiful song. It’s not a long song which is I think good for the main track of the EP. The music video is also lovely and Selena looks fantastic in that rosy look I have to say. I love to sing the verse because it’s something like a playful melody that takes you deep down inside the song and my favorite lyrics are from the chorus, which says…
“I’m stronger alone, ah-ah-ah (I’m stronger alone) And I do not regret the past I know that the time by your side cut my wings But now this chest is bulletproof”
Selena Gomez – Buscando Amor (3:08)
Beats are really good and fun to listen to but honestly, I didn’t like this song as much I liked the others in the EP. Maybe because of the repeating lyrics but we all have different tastes in music so you may like this song, so it’s recommended.
Selena Gomez & Rauw Alejandro – Baila Conmigo (3:06)
My favorite song of this EP! I honestly didn’t like it when I first listened to it but trust me, it has the beats which can make you dance automatically. Rauw Alejandro also did a fantastic job in making this song more fun to listen to. My favorite lines are the first ones of the chorus, which says:
"I don't understand a lot, but dance, dance, dance with me Dance, dance, dance and I'll follow you"
Selena Gomez – Dámelo To’ ft. Myke Towers (3:04)
1st verse is awesome no doubt. And Selena’s voice sounds very cute in the chorus. But it is some kind of song which takes me a while to think that I like it or not, so I’m leaving it to you guys. Go listen to it and let me know your views on this song.
Selena Gomez – Vicio (2:40)
I’m in love with this song but still think that it could be a little better. The chorus part was my fav in this song, then the outro part where beats were clear and Selena’s voice in the background did a great job and for the lyrics, verse 2 is beautiful, which says:
"You healed my heart You gave life to what was dead I didn't believe in love Becausе it wasn't the right moment And it happenеd without warning, I'll let you know If I don't have you, I get sad I need you with me Nobody gives me what you give me"
Selena Gomez – Adiós (2:10)
I wasn’t impressed with the intro but when 1st verse came, it changed my mind. Chorus is a must listen which can light up your mood easily. You know that songs which suddenly come in mind and we start to sing and dance, the chorus gives me the same vibes, which says:
This is not for you The picture I posted, I wanted to tell you, yeah, "Bye" It's fine, it's not ill-intentioned This is not personal, there's nothing to explain, goodbye If they say out there that's who I saw I probably did, yeah, bye Calm down, calm down, bye I've said goodbye
Selena Gomez & DJ Snake – Selfish Love (2:48)
When I played the song for the first time I thought, “hmm it’s something different”, then I realized it’s DJ Snake here, and who doesn’t know… Taki-Taki rumba… It is a song that I like to listen to when I’m busy with house chores or editing featured images for my blog, it’s more fun to sing along.

My thoughts…
⭐4.2 out of 5
Favorite song: Baila Conmigo
Best lyrics: De Una Vez
It was Selena’s first-ever Spanish EP, so first I want to congratulate her and say thanks for gifting us these fantastic songs. This EP is quite helpful to me as I’m looking forward to learning Spanish after learning Korean and since I’ve listened to Revelación, I’m repeating some words which were the highlights of some songs like Adiós, Baila Conmigo, Por eso, Solo una vez, etc. All the songs were short, which I think is good for a nice EP. Theme is absolutely fantastic. I didn’t like Buscando Amor and Dámelo To’ that much but I’m really impressed with this EP Revelación. I loved it!
Next post in this series will be a review of Justin Bieber’s brand new album ‘Justice’. Is there any new album or EP or even a song you want me to review, feel free to let me know in the comments.

Have you listened to Revelación? If yes, then what are your favorite songs from the EP? If no, then was this review helpful to you? Let me know your views on this review in the comments.
