Talking About Toxic Fans And Haters

I’m so done with these people. Yes, I’m talking about the Toxic Fans and Haters, I don’t know what they think of themselves. I listen to music all the time and as a huge music lover, I stan lots of artists. I’m a girl of multi-fandoms, and it’s normal for me to see toxic fans and haters every single day whether it’s online or offline. Even though I’m so used to it, it hurts when I see these people, and somewhere inside, I feel pity towards them because of their low mentality or you can say so-called over-smartness.

I use Twitter on daily basis for many things. Mainly for blogging, but also to see what’s going on around the world. I love to see what’s trending and get to know lots of things, but sometimes it’s not that good. A couple of days ago, I saw this hashtag “#nctdisband” trending in the Entertainment section that really broke my heart. NCT is a K-pop boy band, with 23 members divided into four sub-units. I started to get into NCT probably one and half months ago and now I’ve become a huge fan of them. The hashtag was trending that day with 11.0K tweets at that time so I knew that it must be not something very serious but when I clicked on it and got to know what the matter is, it turned out not something very serious but very stupid.

The hashtag was made by toxic BTS ARMYs because of a bullshit reason that NCT can’t have a song titled ‘Paradise’ because BTS already have it. One of the biggest nonsense things I’ve ever heard of! Now before you start blaming BTS or saying something against them in the comments, let me tell you that BTS is my all time favorite group and I won’t stand something nonsense against them. The hashtags real ARMYs make trend don’t have only 11K tweets so it was just a worthless act by the toxic and stupid fans. For them, I want to give a piece of general knowledge that it is very common to have the same song titles for different artists. I don’t understand what’s the point of all this, it’s good that you love a group but why spread hate for others? But I’m glad that many NCTzens and ARMYs stood together and finished the matter.

I’ve experienced one more incident like this when I was watching Little Mix comeback with their brand new single Confetti’s acoustic performance. It was streaming live so I thought to check the live chat. And this time there were some toxic Blinks who were continuously commenting BlackPink in your area in the live chat to provoke the Mixers. I mean why did they have to do that when it’s Little Mix live? I respect both of the bands and their fandoms but it doesn’t mean that you always have to say my favorites are better than this band. Then it didn’t take long to start a fan-war in the live chat, so I decided to leave it and watch the performance.

Watch this after you finish reading this post! It’s outstanding!

Now before someone says that only toxic K-pop fans do these stupid things, let me clear that it happens with every artist whether they belong to Pop or K-pop. I’ve seen lots of comments by toxic Directioners also in BTS videos saying that BTS would have never achieved this all if One Direction hadn’t disbanded, and even that BTS took advantage of their disbandment. Now for those who said these things, let me tell you that BTS debuted in 2013. And they were (and still are) continuously making music and performing when 1D was active as a band. They are working hard since they were trainees and for the whole 8 years after they debuted, and some people still think that they don’t worth their fame. I can’t believe it. BTS still have competition with lots of outstanding bands out there but they stand out because of their hard work. Nothing could stop them from achieving what they have now. And for the true Directioners who are reading this post, I don’t want you guys to get offended, I’m also a fan of 1D and I’d be really very happy if they get reunited one day. I just want these toxic fans to get some common sense.

If you are a true fan, then you should understand that there are other people too from different fandoms who love and respect their favorite artists like you do. Before spreading hate against any other group or artists, first think about it that some people do the same to your favorite artists too and how much you hate that. It’s not about being better, it’s about being good. Respect each and every artist and their work. And if you still don’t like someone, let’s take BTS- my favorite band- for example, if you don’t like them, just ignore them. You don’t have to listen to their music or talk good about them, but you must not spread hate and talk anything rubbish for someone you don’t even know a single thing about. And the most important thing, don’t support those toxic fans and haters.

(Note: Through this post, I don’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings, but if it does for those toxic people, then I don’t mind. It’s true!)

What do you think about toxic fans and haters? Let’s talk about this topic in the comments.

Omg I agree! For me I am a lot into music. Little mix, Ariana, Selena Gomez, Taylor swift, Shawn mendes and one of the singer I am liking a lot is billie! You know some people are so against that pretty girl. She is 19 or something! Practically a teenager. And this industry is known to more excepting for like depression and all. And she is not even depressed. She went from “I hate myself” to “I love myself” pretty quickly. Call it phase people

Yeah that’s so stupid. I don’t know what’s the problem in being different. Haters always have low mentality and they could never understand others’ feelings and what talent is.

I so agreeeee! I don’t know why people think that they need to pull down someone else for their own star to shine. The sky has enough place for millions of stars. And slowly social media is becoming such a toxic place where people hide behind fake profiles and just bring down other people.

I’ve never understood the need to waste energy trying to bring others down. Like, why try to hurt a band just because you don’t like it? They must not have anything better to do.

Just because you love a particular group doesn’t mean that you have to toxic towards fans of another group. It absolutely disgusts me. This happens everywhere even on YouTuber’s comments section. I have no idea why people do this. I totally agree with you, Poorwa.

Ah Poorwa, thanks a ton for bringing this up!
I don’t know what people get in spreading hate and toxicity! In every social media platform you’ll find people who try to bring a celebrity down!
And the fact these people even fat shame and body shame celebrities, celebrities are humans as well and they have the right to live their life as per their choice. How are you to poke you nose in their lives?
These fan wars are not new, I have seen dozens of fanwars, especially in K-pop between ARMYs and BLINKs.Both the bands are famous and doing well, and if you are a hard-stan ARMY/BLINK then why to force others to join the fandom or shame the artists! That’s so immature!

I so agree with you. I don’t know what’s wrong with these people who think that celebrities are their properties and forget that they are human beings too. Ikr! I’m glad that we are mature enough to understand all this

You are always right poorwa!! The worst part is that toxic fans don’t just stop there, they even become sasaeng or obsess with the idols and bring other fans down in front of public. Toxic fans are nothing but a bad representation to both fandom and to their idols.
I’m good that you spoke about this topic. People need to understand that this issue is very important to consider. I wasn’t active on Twitter for few days so I didn’t notice that trend.
True army always finds a right way to dominate those stupid fans and I’m really proud of them. 💜

Okay first of all let me say how much I loved this post. This is such a huge issue and it really, really needs to be talked about. Now, I’m a hardcore Directioner and also a Swiftie. Swifties and Directioners don’t really get well together and it really breaks my heart.

I absolutely agree, if you don’t like something, fine, don’t at least don’t spread hate. There is tons of rivalry between ARMYS and Directioners and it really is devastating. I for one, I’m not a BTS fan, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to appreciate their music, but I don’t go on spreading hate.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter which fandom you belong to, it matters if you are able to make a connection with music. Isn’t that the whole point of it all?

I know, they are always into fan wars. I don’t know how much fun they get by doing these all stupid things. It’s totally fine if you don’t listen to their music until you don’t hate them without any true reason. I get your point.

Toxicity is such a waste of time and such a waste of energy. Almost all sports fans are toxic too, and it gets out of hand sometimes. Unfortunately it is what it is, can only ignore toxicity and stay away from it. It feels amazing to stay clean from toxic people

I agree, toxic fans are so annoying and make the whole fandom look bad even though the fandom is mostly nice people. That is a ridiculous reason to cancel them! There are so many songs called ‘Hello’ but no one mentions that! I’m so sorry that you often encounter people like that, WordPress is basically my first social media so I don’t see many haters because people on WordPress are usually nice and I don’t have many other social medias.
