Collab Post + ‘Music in our heart’ + Something Special

[Collab Post]

Hey everyone. (We have a special guest today🥳)

Yes.. Poorwa @Poorwa’s blog and Pavithra @Small Talks here🥳.

Since we are very good friends here and have the same interests in music, we thought to give it a shot…. It is.. ‘Music in your heart’.

We just started working on it a few days ago and finally, now we’re ready to share it with you, we hope you guys will like it. (And yes… Don’t forget to read until the end, we have something special😉)

Pavithra’s questions and my answers..

How have your musical tastes changed since when you were a kid?

I’ve been listening to old Hindi songs and English songs since I was a kid. And I started to listen to k-pop when I was in 9th (two years back). It is good to try different kinds of music🙂.

What’s your favorite music video? Do videos help you enjoy the music more?

It keeps changing. These days my favorite music videos are ‘Life goes on’ by BTS and ‘Past Life’ by Selena Gomez and Trevor Daniel.

And yes.. If the music video is nice, it helps me enjoy the music more.

Do you prefer to listen to music coming from loudspeakers, using headphones or earphones? How does the experience differ?

Depends on the situation. I don’t like loudspeakers very much because I used to feel a little bit sick after that but it doesn’t affect me anymore. I enjoy using headphones but I don’t use them very much, only when I don’t want to disturb the person next to me😄.

I mostly play music in a medium volume (sometimes high when I’m in a very great mood), so I can sing along while having fun.

Have you ever taken part in a singing or dancing competition?

I always take part in singing and dancing in the school functions. Honestly, they don’t feel like ‘all done’ if I’m not there🤗. I love to take part in school competitions.

If you could start a band, what type of music would you play? Why?

It would be one of the greatest things in my life really. If I could, I would like to play pop music, but not always the same kind of songs, that’s one of the reasons I like BTS, I can find variety in their songs. And pop music.. It’s also because I love Little Mix, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and other pop artists’ songs.

What are some special or traditional musical instruments in your country?

When I asked my Mom about it, she told me so many that I’ve even forgotten. So I’m writing some of my favorites… Sitar, harmonium, bansuri and dholak. (If you search about Indian traditional musical instruments, you’d really find a lot of great instruments🙂)

What do you think about listening to music while doing homework? Do you think that actually helps to concentrate or as a distraction?

I think it depends on the habits you have. Music doesn’t distract me while doing homework or making notes but I don’t listen to it when I’m studying for tests or exams. I usually sing while making notes and I like it. Let me tell you what happened once..

My friend was helping me to make notes, we both were writing (copy and paste) and I was singing 1D song ‘Better than words’ and she suddenly started to laugh and captured all students’ attention. She had written the lyrics I was singing in half of the page😆. We all laughed for hours because of that😂😂.

So I think if you like to listen to music while studying, there’s no problem but if you’re not used to it, there’s no pressure to do it😉.

Due to the generation gap, what are your parents’ opinions about your taste in music? And what is their type of music?

My parents are really supportive and they have no problem with my taste in music. They don’t understand the songs I’m listening to but they still like it because of the melodies and the artists. My Mom’s favorite western song is ‘Secret Love Song’ by Little Mix and she says that this song is really touching and I sometimes find her humming ‘Spring Day’ by BTS. Music has no language barriers.

Do you see buskers in your city? How do you feel about what street performers do?

Only once or twice. But I have to say they’re amazing. I think street artists have a lot of potential and talent. I really loved it when I got a chance to see them, their performance was amazing.

Do you enjoy listening to rapping songs? Why do you think there is so much hate on rap?

I like the song if I like the lyrics. So yes, I listen to rapping songs too and enjoy it. I know that I don’t listen to it very much because I love to sing but I don’t have any problem with rappers. I think some people don’t like rap because of curse words and I also don’t like it when some rappers use those words too much. But you can’t blame their talent of rap, rapping songs have their own specialty.

A special announcement

I hope you liked reading this post. We thought of doing a collab on music because we had similar interests in it. We would be so delighted if you also join us using this tag ‘#Music in your heart’ to share your experience with music. We believe music can unit us without any barrier.

In what language do you listen to music? Do you play any instrument? Do you have a favorite band or singer? Why do you like them? How they have and are still changing your lives in a good way? Whether it’s in the form of poem, drawing or your experience, your obsession about a particular genre, any awareness you want to make about music or simply a song recommendation!

We would love to see your participation in it too. As always, getting new songs from your friends is what makes a music lover happy!

If you want to participate, thank you so much. Here are the rules..

  • ‘Music in your heart’ is our tag, so use this in your post’s title.
  • Answer the questions we asked in the ‘special announcement’ paragraph.
  • You can also add your own questions related to music and answer them. If you like the questions Pavithra asked to me, feel free to answer them as well.
  • Link back to Poorwa and Pavithra, so we won’t miss your post.
  • Play your music and have fun.

Bye friends! Thank you so much for reading. Take care and stay safe!
